Josh (my bro) and I made the earth shake today in honor of Sherry Arnold.
Joshie came over to my house about 7:45 and we headed out.
We chose to run the canyon.
It was windy, cold, and tough.
But I was happy to be running for Sherry.
A sister runner who I never even met, but felt deeply affected by her tragic, senseless death.
I imagine Sherry and her family would give anything to have her back and running again.
I thought of her with every step.
I thought of her family, her husband and kids...
and everyone else out there running today for Sherry.
My Momma and Joanna ran 12.25 miles for her early this morning.
and my friend Janice wore her bib to her spin class this morning.
I know she was watching down and with us all, every step of the way.
Run Like a Mother posted the Runner's Prayer on facebook and it seemed fitting for today's run for Sherry.
Runner's Prayer
Run by my side; Live in my heartbeat;
Give strength to my steps;
As the cold surrounds, as the wind pushes me,
I know you surround me.
As the sun warms me, as the rain cleanses me,
I know you are touching me, challenging me, loving me.
And so I give you this run.
Thank you for matching my stride.
AMEN
Did you make the earth shake today for Sherry?
